Summer Vacation

We have waited and waited and waited and waited ALL summer for our vacation to Arizona.  Spencer finished school at the end of July and I was out the door before you could say Ha-boob!!  We decided to take the dogs with us and drive the whole 17 hours in one day.  Of course the drive to Arizona was great, the dogs were great, the weather was great, we were going to the great state of Arizona... it was all great.  On the other hand the return journey was not great, the dogs were frigidity, I was frigidity, it took forever to get back...all together it was just yucky!!  We did discover Max's hatred of window wipers and would periodically turn them on just to watch as he would try to get at them through the windshield... trust me it was super funny.

It was so great to be back home and the heat welcomed us with open arms... it was very very very hot, very hot!!  August is not the time of year to be visiting Arizona, but beggars can't be choosers.

We spent most of the vacation relaxing, spent the mornings in the pool, took naps in the afternoon, made some dinner, and played games with the family.  Who could ask for more?

Max did a great job playing fetch in the pool, he would not get in willingly but did great once he was in.  Wienz on the other hand has hated water, does hate water, probably will never forgive us for putting him in the pool.  One day he came outside with us, realized we were heading for the pool and ran back inside.  No amount of coaxing could get him even near the back door.

Spencer saw his first dust storm while we were there... it was not very exciting just a lot of red sand getting in your eyes.  We scrapped a few visits in with friends but Arizona is back to business with school.  So it was hard to find the time to see everybody.  Which we anticipated but it was the only time we could manage a trip.  My hope is that a year from now we will be moving to the great state of Arizona but only time will tell....
